HEALTH AND NUTRITION

Salem equips children to make healthy choices in eating, exercise and lifestyle for the rest of their lives.

FOOD
A natural foods, lacto-ovo vegetarian diet (including milk, eggs and cheese) is the basis for our menus, which are approved by a licensed nutritionist/registered dietitian. Children are provided tasty and nutritious meals daily from the four basic food groups.

EXERCISE
Exercise is crucial to maintaining physical health. Our kids enjoy a variety of recreational activities including baseball, basketball, horseback riding, hiking, cross-country skiing and bicycling right on grounds.  Off-ground activities include school and community team sports and visits to local recreation areas.

HEALTHY HABITS
Good, healthy eating habits coupled with regular exercise and visits to local pediatricians and dentists will hopefully encourage Salem children to make good health choices throughout their lifetimes.
